Obituary of Aloysius Joseph Gatesman

Aloysius "Wish" Joseph Gatesman, 78, of Timber Lane, Lucinda, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, December 10, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Lucinda to the late Jacob and Teresa Engel Gatesman.
Wish married Eleanor "Susie" Reese on April 22, 1961 at St. Joseph in Lucinda.
Wish worked for Sigel Coal Rockland Mining as a heavy equipment operator for most of his working years. He enjoyed farming, hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and enjoyed a trip to Rosine, Kentucky, last year for the Cumberland Highlanders as shown on RFD TV.
Wish was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda.
Wish is survived by his wife, Susie, four children, Jacob Gatesman & wife Kathleen of Tionesta, Donna M. Gatesman of Tidioute, Aloysius J. Gatesman, Jr. & wife Molly of Lucinda, and Susan Carbaugh of Leeper; a sister, Margaret Bauer & husband Richard of Deckersville, MI; twelve grandchildren, Nicole Carroll and her husband, Kent; Michael Gatesman and his wife, Megan; Emily Gatesman and fiancé, Josh Fitzgerald; Timna Gatesman and fiancé, Luke Snyder; Aloysius Gatesman; John McCallum; Leah Gatesman and fiancé, Chris Mannerino; Sarah Gatesman; Noah Gatesman; Beth Baker; Marissa Mariani and her husband, Stephen; and Carol Carbaugh; six great-grandchildren, Grace Carroll, Evie Carroll, Kaoz Baker, Harmony Baker, Madelyn Gatesman, Kole Mariani; a special friend, Keith Orkis of Lower Burrell, PA; and his dear dog Lilly Mae.
Wish was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 on Thursday, December 12, at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 13 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda with Father Joseph Czarkowski, pastor as celebrant.
Internment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the family to help defer funeral costs.
