Obituary of Stitely Family

Forrest Alan Stitely, 35, Susan Michelle Stitely, 33, and their children, Megan Sierra Stitely, 10, and Brooke Elaina Stitely, 8, all of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and formerly of Leeper, died early Friday morning, July 22, 2011 at Rothrock State Forest in Logan Township, in a tragic fire in their cabin, where they were vacationing. Forrest Alan Stitely, born June 24, 1976, in Somerset, was the son of Donald and Diana Miller Stitely of Vowinckel. He graduated from North Clarion High School in 1995. Forrest worked for the Department of Forestry in Huntingdon. He enjoyed his family, camping, hunting and fishing. On July 23, 1995, Forrest married the former Susan Michelle Gill and she also perished in the fire. In addition to his parents, Forrest, is survived by a sister, Stephanie Hauserman and her husband, David of Leeper. Susan Michelle Stitely, born October 26, 1977, in Lewistown, PA, was the daughter of James and RuthAnn Varner Gill of Tylersburg. She graduated from North Clarion High School in 1995. Susan worked in the pharmacy at Huntingdon Wal-Mart where she was a Pharmacy Tech. She had written 3 books. She also enjoyed camping with her family. In addition to her parents, Susan is survived by a brother, James E. Gill III and his wife, Casandra of Mifflintown, PA and 3 sisters, Patricia Gill of Tylersburg, Christina Heck and her husband, Richard of Port Royal, Pa and Bobbi Jo Gill of Clarion. Megan Sierra Stitely, was born December 26, 2000 in State College. She was in the 4th grade at Jackson-Miller Elementary in Huntingdon, PA. Brooke Elaina Stitely, was born May 12, 2003 in State College. She was in 2nd grade at Jackson-Miller Elementary in Huntingdon, PA. Both girls loved the outdoors and their dog, Roscoe, who also died in the fire. The entire family is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family attended Tylersburg United Methodist Church, when they lived in the area. Friends and family may call on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Hurst, pastor of Tylersburg Charge United Methodist Churches, officiating. Interment will follow in the Tylersburg Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant St., 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1916.
