Eleanor D. Gatesman, 82 of Lucinda, passed away December 11, 2024.
Eleanor was born August 3, 1942, in East Hickory. She was the beloved daughter of Edward and Eleanor Howe Reese.
She graduated from West Forest High School. She married Aloysius Gatesman on April 22, 1961. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage prior to his passing on December 10, 2013. The couple had 4 children Jacob, Donna, Aloysius and Susie.
Eleanor was a devoted housewife and mother. She took great pride in taking care of grandchildren and children. Her grandchildren will treasure the crocheted blankets she made for each of them. She loved chasing her dog around, reading and watching westerns.
She was member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Loved ones to cherish her memory are her children: Jacob E. Gatesman his wife Kathy of Tionesta, Donna Marie Gatesman of Strobleton, Aloysius Gatesman and his wife Molly of Lucinda and Susie E. Carbaugh and her significant other Robert L. Walker of Leeper. Her grandchildren Nicole (Kent) Carroll, Michael (Megan) Gatesman, Emily (Josh) Fitzgerald, Timna (Luke) Snyder, Aloysius (Megan) Gatesman, John (Zoe) McCallum, Leah (Chris) Mannerino, Sarah (Jacob) Bleggi, Noah Gatesman, Elizabeth (Ben) Berlin, Marissa (Jeremy Jackson) Mariani and Carol Thomas. Eleanor's was blessed with 39 great grandchildren as well.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband and 9 brothers and sisters.
Friends and family will be received at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc., 32936 Rt 66, Leeper PA, Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will take place Friday, December 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Polinek.
Eleanor's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the McKinley Nursing Home, Memory Unit for the exceptional care that was given to her while she was there. Eleanor was loved by the staff, affectingly calling her grandma. Your compassion and kindness were appreciated.
