Obituary of Betty D. McCloskey

Betty D. McCloskey, 89, of Brookville, PA passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Jefferson Manor.
She was born on July 10, 1935, in Lickingville, PA to the late Chalmer D. and Margaret (Watkins) Silvis.
Betty graduated from Farmington High School. After high school she married the love of her life, Charles R. McCloskey Sr., on November 8, 1952, in Tionesta, PA. Charles preceded her in death on March 17, 1996.
Betty was mostly a stay-at-home mother for most of her life. Charles did own a trucking company to which Betty was the secretary. Later in life she enjoyed spending time making floral arrangements, which she worked with her son, Charles Jr., who owned a nursery and floral business. She also worked painting plaster crafts.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Global Methodist Church in Tionesta, PA. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars in Marienville, PA.
Betty is survived by her son, Clifford Douglas McCloskey and his wife Angelene, of Lickingville, PA.; grandchildren: Brock Charles McCloskey, Garrett Michael McCloskey, Brenton Douglas McCloskey, Charlene Rae Walker, and Debra Jo Sweeney; great- grandchildren: Sophia McCloskey, Jase McCloskey, Abigail McCloskey, Barrett Charles Walker, Holly Walker, Griffin Sweeney and Austin Sweeney; a sister, Joyce Sayre of Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Charles R. McCloskey Jr. and siblings: Virginia, Bill, Max, Howard, and Rich.
Friends and family will be received from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Good Shepherd Global Methodist, 9870 Route 36, Tionesta, PA 16353. Betty's funeral service will follow at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Rick Helsel as officiant. Interment will take place in the Lickingville Cemetery following the service.
