Obituary of Larry (Gordon) L. Whiteman

Larry Whiteman, 76, of Leeper, PA passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Clarion Hospital. He was born on May 26, 1948, in Seweckley, PA to the late Gordon E. and Mary E. Whiteman. Larry attended Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was self-employed as a carpenter doing odd jobs here and there. Larry enjoyed woodworking and fixing camps around the area. He married the love of his life, Connie L. Hollis, on September 28, 1975, at the Scotch Hill Church in Leeper, PA. Larry enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, liked to sit around the campfire with family and friends sharing stories. He also enjoyed going to football games in Ohio and attending his grandchildren's events. Larry liked NASCAR, his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. He also liked to travel to New York to the casino to try his luck at gambling. Larry is survived by his daughter, Lora Crank and her husband Judd of Fayetteville, NC and his step son Randall Hollis and his wife Lori of Lucinda, PA; grandchildren: Ashley Bruce, Andrea Borland, Alex Crank, Annika Crank, Josh Vanek and Faythlynn Vanek; great grandchildren: Nathan Borland, Reese Borland, Addyson Bruce and Sydney Bruce; a sister Carol Cushing of Gaithersburg, MD; brothers-in-law: Charles Hollis of New York and Harry Hollis of Leeper, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and adorned wife, Larry was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Whiteman; a granddaughter, Soneyuh Olivera; a sister, Sandra Camman; brothers-in-law: Wesley, Richard, Harvey, Donald and William Hollis. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00pm at Scotch Hill Cemetery in Leeper, PA with the Rev. Melissa Kraus presiding. Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper, PA are overseeing the arrangements.
