Obituary of Lawrence Henry Schmader

Lawrence H. Schmader, 94, of Lucinda, PA passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Snyder Memorial Health Care in Marienville, PA. He was born at home in Lucinda, PA on October 24, 1929, to the late Sylvester and Lorene (Gatesman) Schmader. Lawrence attended and graduated from St. Joseph School in Lucinda in 1948. In October of 1951, he was inducted into the US Army. Lawrence served his country until July 1953, earning the rank of Corporal. During his time in the US Army, he served in the Korean War. On October 29, 1955, he married the love of his life, Evelyn M. Glosser at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown, PA. Lawrence worked at Schmader Lumber from 1948 and continued to work there after he got back from the Army until he was 78 years old. Lawrence loved to watch movies, woodworking, traveling and most of all he loved spending time with and enjoying his family. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. Besides his wife, Evelyn, he was survived by his children: Brenda Lander and her husband Ken, Keith Schmader and his wife Beverly, and Todd Schmader all of Lucinda, PA; grandchildren: Heather Lander-Reisinger (Shaun), Kyle Lander (Shayli Hill) and Adam Schmader; great granddaughters: Isabella and Charlee Reisinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by all his siblings, his brothers: Donald, Kenneth (Pearl), Edwin (Joyce) and Rupert Schmader and his sisters: Vivian Weiser-Paul, Jean Lutz (Art), and Nancy Snyder (Bob). Family will receive extended family and friends on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am, an hour prior to mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, PA. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00am with Rev. Michael Polinek, pastor, as celebrant. Inurnment will take place following in St. Joseph Cemetery.
