Obituary of Kathryn M. Larrow

Kathryn "Kate" M. Larrow, 85, of Leeper, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, where she resided and was cared for lovingly, most especially by her nurse Beverly who Kate affectionately renamed Pam. She was born on June 24, 1938, at home in Marble to the late Leanus A. and Irene R. (Hartle) Rapp. Kate was in the first class to graduate from Keystone High School. She worked at Marienville Glass Containers until it's closure in the 1980's. After that she continued a life of caring for others through Foster Parenting for Clarion County and Lifesharing through UCIP right up until her stroke in January of 2022. She married Vaughn W. Larrow in 1975 at St. Patrick's Church in Franklin. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1989. Kate loved quilting and collecting cardinals. She also loved to bake pies, making multiple pies at one time to share with her large family. She is survived by her children: Mark Rossey of Strattanville and Lori Hinderliter of Lickingville; her step children: Jodie Hadden of Rocky Grove, Judy Smith and her husband Ken of Seneca; Gary Deemer and Kathleen Margaret Fitzgerald who resided with her in Lifesharing; her grandchildren: Cassandra (Justin) Bell, Kenneth Rossey, Cory (Allison) Hinderliter, Jeremiah Hinderliter, Parker (Cierra) Hinderliter; great grandchildren: Connor, Isabella, Emma, Will, Henry, and Paige; siblings: Richard "Dick" Rapp and his wife Ruth of Tionesta, Frank Rapp and wife Bonnie of Oil City, Bob Rapp and his wife Cindy of Tionesta, Harold Rapp and his wife Patty of Miola, and Barbara Buzard of Knox; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends: Pauline and Bill Wiant of Rimersburg and Brittany Dixon and her son, Jacob of Clearfield. In addition to her parents and husband, Kate was preceded in death by her son Matthew, her siblings: David, George, Albert, Gerald, Paul, Charles, Dorothy, Anna and Ethel; her step children: Larry, Ron, Ann, and Bobbie. Per Kate's wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown, with Rev. Michael Polinek, pastor as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery. Memorials made be made in Kate's honor to Shippenville Healthcare and rehabilitation Center, 21158 Paint Blvd, Shippenville, PA 16254.
