Joseph J. Baker Jr, 86, of Lucinda passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at UPMC Hamot. Joseph was born in Lucinda on October 28, 1933 to the late Joseph Baker Sr. and Regina Zacheryl Baker. He married Mary Schmader on August 18, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, officiated by Father William Hall. Joseph worked as a machinist, a tool and die maker, all his life until he retired in 1995. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved traveling and his family. In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children: Joseph H. Baker and his companion, Cathy Shaffer, Catherine Karns and husband Thomas, David Baker and companion Sheila Pope, Anna Bowen and husband Steven, Daniel (Boone) Baker and wife Susan; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; siblings; Veronica (Vera) Baker Jaspers and husband Roger, twin sister Regina (Jean) Baker Kurtzhals, Edward Baker and wife Irene, and Annette Baker Minich and husband Ralph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Baker Sr. and Regina Zacheryl Baker; in-laws, Harvey and Isabel Schmader; brothers: Bernard Baker and his wife Phyllis Schrecengost, Albinus (John) Baker and his wife Doris Beckwith, Kenneth Baker; sisters: Catherine (Kate) Baker Meehan, Agnes (Aggie) Baker Crandall and husband Hugh, Lucille (Lucy) Baker Grady; brother in-law Richard Kurtzhals; and a granddaughter Jessica Baker Salapek. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service that will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Good Shepherd Church 9870 Route 36, Tionesta, PA 16353. Following the memorial service there will be a luncheon to celebrate Joseph's life.
