Obituary of Kenneth Crownover

Kenneth R. Crownover, 81, of Tionesta passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Florreffe, Pennsylvania February 3, 1937 to the late Ralph M. and Helen I. Blumenstein Crownover. He married the love of his life, Joan R. Daerr, on July 9, 1955 in Clairton, PA. They just celebrated their 63-year wedding anniversary together. Kenneth worked in the steel industry most of his life. He retired from US Steel in 1991 after 28 years. He and his wife then moved to the Tionesta area following his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was taking care of his family and friends. Along with his wife he is survived by his five daughters: Terri Mathe and husband Ronald, of Vassar KS, Kathleen Davis and husband Bill, of Nokomis, FL, Judy Benzo and husband Lee Sr., of Lake Lucy, Colleen Bauer and husband Jamie, of Lucinda, and Tiffany Silvis and husband Jay, of Lake Lucy; grandchildren: Kenneth Mathe, Lee Benzo Jr., Tim Benzo, Felicia Deal, Trevor Crownover, Cheyenne Crownover, RJ Silvis, Jaylynn Silvis, Elizabeth Silvis; great grandchildren: Gavin, Brantley, Daniel, Dalton, and Zander; and siblings: Harry Crownover and wife, Arlene and Karen Kruszka and husband Tim; a brother in law Lester Dolton and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Janet Dolton, Betty Walsh and her husband Gene, and brother Jackie Crownover. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A private service will take place at the convenience of the family.
