Obituary of Ruth Ann Wolbert

Ruth Ann Wolbert, 74, a life long resident of Leeper went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 8, 2018. Her husband and grandbaby welcomed her with loving arms into Heaven.
She was born in Brookville on June 18, 1943, to the late Leo J. Ochs and Ruth D. (Ochs) Sherbine. She married James (Jay) H. Wolbert on October 17, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2015.
She graduated from the Oil City School of Nursing as a registered nurse. However, she spent most of her career as a stay at home mom and babysitter caring for more than 40 children over 2 decades. She was a former member of the Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of the Farmington Area Ambulance Service. Ruth Ann was also a founding member of the Farmington Area Ambulance Service and Brooks Medical Arts. She was on the committee for the Leeper Light Up Night and was on the Vera Bradley Bowling League. Along with spending time with her family she enjoyed reading, bowling, going out to lunch with the Leeper Lunch Ladies once a month and crocheting. She lovingly crocheted many afghans for babies and weddings. Ruth Ann especially enjoyed going to her grandchildren's events.
Ruth Ann was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown. She was a member of the funeral lunch committee and a money counter. She had a strong devotion to St. Theresa the Little Flower.
She is survived by her daughters: Jayanne Stahlman and husband Michael of Shippenville; Sheila Martz and husband Keith of Shippenville; and Jill Smail and husband Jack of Leeper. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Rebekah (Jonathan) Baisch, Keleigh (Micah) Sopher, Gabe and Drew Martz; one great-granddaughter, Gretchen Sopher.
Other survivors include her sister: Betty (Harry) Hinderliter; step-brothers: Gene (Dixie) Sherbine;Jim (Janet) Sherbine; Mike (Sonia) Sherbine; step-sister, Cathy (Bob) Kirkpatrick; sister-in-law, Eleanor (Dave) Aaron; step sister-in-laws: Rose Sherbine and Laura Sherbine. Ruth Ann is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her bestest friend ever, Pat McCloskey.
In addition to her husband and grandbaby she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte (Dave) Bierly; step siblings: Dan Sherbine, Tom (Karen) Sherbine, Dave Sherbine and Dottie (Bob) Fitzgerald.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper, PA. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown, PA, with the Rev. Christopher Barnes, pastor, as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
