Obituary of Alice Margaret Ochs

Alice M. Ochs, 97, of Lucinda, died late Tuesday morning, August 30, 2016. Born February 23, 1919 in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Alice Elizabeth Neuland Ochs.
She worked for many years with her brothers, Mark and Bill, at Redbank Mills in New Bethlehem. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda and the Rosary Society. She washed dished for the July 4th picnic at the church for decades.
Alice was the last surviving member of her generation of the family. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters: Albinus Ochs, Regis Ochs, William Ochs, Henry (Hank) Ochs, John (Mark) Ochs, Cornelius (Connie) Ochs, Mauricia Steiner, Mary Ochs and Bertha (Toots) Lander. She is survived by 3 sisters –in –laws, Geraldine Ochs, Marian Ochs and Delores Ochs and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Gretchen, Patty, Chastiti and Marcia who lovingly cared for Alice during the last several years.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 2, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at St. Joseph Hall to remember Alice and celebrate her life.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Joseph Church or St. Joseph School.
