Charles H. Stitzinger, 90, of North Tonawanda, NY and formerly of Leeper, died Thursday, July 13, 2016 in North Tonawanda. Born February 19, 1926 in Sligo, he was the son of the late John and Pauline Klingensmith Stitzinger.
He was married to the former Anita Slocum on March 25, 1950 and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2013.
Chuck served with the U.S. Air Force during WW II. He worked for the Buffalo Courier Express, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Tylersburg United Methodist Church.
Chuck is survived by a son and daughter: Charles H. Stitzinger, Jr. and his wife, Audrey of North Tonawanda, NY and Sherry Tremblay and her husband, Daniel of Liberty, North Carolina. He is also survived by a brother, Thomas Stitzinger of Lamartine. In addition, Chuck is survived by 6 grandchildren: Valerie Burley, Victoria Aldrich, Robert Reynolds, Philip Stitzinger, Allison Cacicia and Peter Stitzinger. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, at the funeral home, with Rev. Andy Blystone, Pastor of Tylersburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Shotts Cemetery.
