Obituary of Stephen A. Gabler

Stephen A. Gabler, Jr., 78, of Lucinda, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Clarion Hospital. Born November 2, 1937 in Lucinda, he was the son of the late Stephen A. and Elnora (Nora) Callahan Gabler.
He attended Wolbert School, which was a one room school and also Farmington School.
He was employed by Farmington Township and Ochs Lumber and Building Supply. In his earlier years he enjoyed farming.
Steve was single. He was a faith-filled man and was a member of St. Mary Church in Crown. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Hubert's Council # 10341.
He enjoyed watching old movies, especially John Wayne. Steve lived in Lucinda all his life and was well known and respected for his knowledge of the history and people of this area. He looked forward to his coffee buddies at McDonalds in Clarion.
Mr. Gabler is survived four brothers: George Gabler of Arizona; Robert Gabler and his wife, Beverly of Lucinda; Tom Gabler and his wife, JoAnn of Leeper and Bernard Gabler and his wife, Patti of Lucinda. In addition, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 4, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Crown with Rev. Christopher Barnes, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church in Crown.
