Obituary of Douglas A. McFarland

Douglas A. McFarland, 62, of Clarion, and formerly of Leeper, died Saturday morning, August 23, 2014 at his home. Born September 26, 1951, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Rose E. Heasley McFarland. Doug retired as a business agent for Operating Engineers Local 66, District 6 and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He also was a member of Clarion Eagles Club. He enjoyed racing, bowling and fishing. Doug is survived by his daughter, Malorie L. McFarland of Clarion. He is survived by two brothers, Harold J. (Crow) McFarland of Leeper and Dale E. McFarland of Georgia. In addition, he is survived by his grandson, Kade McFarland of Clarion. Mr. McFarland was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael McFarland and a sister, Rita Wagner. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, August 27, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 7 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Harold "Jake" Jacobson, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion, officiating.
