Obituary of Daniel Earl Burkett

Daniel Earl Burkett, Jr., 41, of Newmansville, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his home. Born January 10, 1973 in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late Daniel Earl Burkett, Sr. and Linda M. Keibler Burkett, of Newmansville, who survives. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and demolition derbies. In addition to his mother, Daniel is survived by 1 son and 3 daughters: Travis Myers of Lucinda, Melinda Benzo of Lake Lucy, Krissy Burkett of Lake Lucy and Ashley Burkett of Strattanville. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Robert S. Burkett and his wife, Emma and Jeffrey W. Burkett and his wife, Stephanie, all of Tionesta. In addition he is survived by 5 grandchildren: Aalidia Myers, Owen Myers, Travis Myers, Jr., Gavin Benzo and Maeleigh Eisenman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Daniel was preceded in death by a grandmother, Betty Lou Edmonds, an aunt, Brenda Hutchinson and great grandparents, Mary and Herbert Ruffner. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Seth McPherson, pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church officiating. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
