Ann was a friend of mine from high school. I remember the sound of her voice and her laugh although I have never seen her since we graduated. She was a very nice person. So sorry that she is gone.

Dear family, I am so very sorry to read in the paper of Ann's death. I am behind in my reading and I just picked up Monday's paper and was saddened to learn of her passing. Her picture made me smile at all the warm memories I have of our friendship from grade school through those fun high school years. She was my best friend and we shared a seat on the bus everyday. I can still see her flying out the door holding a piece of toast with those curls flying in the wind! And wow, such a hardy happy laugh! God Bless you Annie and my you rest in light and peace. Hugs to you dear family in your loss.

Annie,
I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there with you on your final day. I take comfort in knowing that you are finally at peace now, and surrounded by the love of those who have gone before you. I know that your parents and my mother were waiting there to greet you with open arms as you crossed over. And forever more you will be a part of that love that awaits all of us and you will be there to greet each of us as we join you in eternity.
Your life was not an easy one. When your mother died at such an early age, it must have felt like the weight of the world was upon your shoulders. With your older siblings already graduated and moved on with their lives and two younger siblings still in elementary school, you took on the great role of holding that household and family together. You did the cooking and the cleaning and the shopping and the laundry and provided the guidance that the younger ones needed to get through those hard times. Never once did you complain. You put your own life on hold and sacrificed for the good of all. Your father depended on you so much. After graduating, you stayed on and worked at the high school as the school secretary for a number of years. And boy, I for one was glad that you were there. Your presence and influence may have softened some of the many times that I was sent to the office for some infraction of the rules.
I remember when you bought your first car, that yellow pinto. I loved that car. It was so cool. And that one summer, when Jack and I got on the summer work program at the high school, you gave us many a ride to and from work. Thank you for that.
I remember being so happy when you finally met a wonderful man and got married and settled down to raise your own family. Finally, Annie gets a life of her own. I don’t know much of the rest of the story, because I too had moved out of the area and got on with my life. But I again felt so sad for you when I had heard that your husband had died….and then again when I heard of the awful disease that was now taking over your brain. You didn’t deserve this, Annie. Life was not fair to you. But now, it’s over and you are at peace, surrounded by loved ones. God has a plan and a reason for everything and I know that you are with Him now and He is explaining it all to you. Rest in Peace and know that I’ll remember you always….in my thoughts and in my prayers.
Good bye, Annie.

My Aunt Ann was as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. As a child, I spent a week in the summer with her along with my sister, Becky, and my cousin, Denise. She took us to Drakes Well, on picnics filled with panut butter sandwiches made with home baked bread, as well as other enjoyable activities. I will never forget this great time as she poured her whole heart and soul into making every minute wonderful. She will remain in my heart always!
