Obituary of Timothy Richard Panzar

Staff Sergeant Timothy Richard Panzar, 25, of Dixon, Missouri, and formerly of Leeper, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 in an accident in Missouri. Born August 15, 1987, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Jeffrey and Bernice Regan Panzar of Leeper. He married the former Victoria A. (Torie) Karg on December 29, 2008 and she survives. Tim was a 2006 graduate of North Clarion High School and joined the Army after graduation, where he was a canine handler. He had 3 combat tours while in the service; 2 in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. He was wounded in action in 2008 and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Tim loved riding 4 wheelers, fishing, and being with his friends and family. In addition to his wife and parents, Tim is survived by his maternal grandparents, Sam and Jay Regan of Cleveland, Ohio and his paternal grandfather, Ron Panzar of Cleveland, Ohio and his paternal grandmother, Sue DeSanto of Leeper. He is also survived by 3 nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends and family from 8:30 a.m. - 10: 15 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor of the church, officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St., Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
