Obituary of Dorothy V. Regina

Dorothy "Dot" Regina, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at her home in Marienville surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 29, 1929 in Leeper, the daughter of Henry "Hack" and Helen Frill Heasley. Dorothy was married to Regis J. Regina on November 5, 1949 at the St. Mary's Church in Crown by Father Bowes. They were married for 63 years before Rege passed away on September 13, 2012. In her early years Mrs. Regina was employed at Knox Glass, both in the factory and office. She later worked as a waitress at both the Bucktail Hotel and Bernie's Diner in Marienville. From 1965 through 1993 Regis and Dorothy owned and operated Regina Construction Company, an excavation and road construction business. They retired in 1993 when the business was sold. She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Marienville, St. Ann's Women's Club, Past Grand Regent of Catholic Daughters of America of St. Mary's Parish, the Marienville Women's Club, Friends of the Library, and various community organizations. Dot enjoyed traveling and family events. She and Rege frequently hosted picnics and parties for their large family and many friends. Above all, she was totally devoted to her family and well known for her healthy and delicious meals. She also enjoyed spending time with friends at various card clubs, working in her yard and caring for her house and flowers. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, George Isaac Heasley on May 17, 2013, sister-in-law Janice Heasley and brother-in-law Fred Zacherl. Dorothy is survived by three daughters including Suzanne Hutson and husband, William, of Duncannon; Lori Lang and husband, Ronald, of Saxonburg; and Sally Regina-Payne and husband, David, of Leeper, and twelve grandchildren: Michael (Tami) Hutson, Hughesville, PA, Charles (Kate) Hutson, Manlius, NY, Melissa (Don) Bazley, Ithaca, NY, Molly Hutson, New Cumberland, Brad Lang (fiance, Chelynne Curci), Butler, Bryan Lang, Saxonburg, Brandon Lang (Jen McDowell), Butler, Amanda (Adam) Butts, Scottdale, Bridget Mosley (fianc, Shane Smith), Mechanicsburg, Shawn Mosley, Greensburg, Joe and Cortney Payne, Tionesta. There are 7 great-grandchildren (and one on the way): Tyler and Rebecca Hutson, Charlie and Grace Hutson, Brady and Blake Butts, and Betty Bazley. Additional survivors include a brother, Norman Heasley and wife, Betty, of Leeper; a sister, Maxine Alabaugh and husband, Jack, of Kane; a sister, Mildred Cussins and husband, Gerald "Skip", of Marienville; a sister Nancy Zacherl of Shippenville; a brother Robert Heasley and wife, Esther, of Tylersburg; a brother Richard Heasley and wife, Marcia, of Leeper, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday at the Borland Funeral Home in Leeper. Mass will be celebrated Friday morning at 10am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Marienville with Reverend Gregory Passauer presiding. Interment will be in the St. Ann Cemetery In Marienville. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Regina's name to the Hospice Program through the Clarion Forest Visiting Nurse Association Inc. at 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA, 16214, and Friends of Library, PO Box 306, Marienville, PA.
