Obituary of Dorothy L. Bauer

Dorothy L. Bauer, 87, of Golden Living Center, Shippenville, and formerly of Akron, Ohio, died Monday night, November 26, 2012 at Golden Living Center. Born February 6, 1925 in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Loretta R. Schwabenbauer Bauer. She moved to Akron, Ohio at age 16 and graduated from Chicago School of Nursing in 1944. She worked at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, retiring in 1987. She was a resident of Highland Oaks in Shippenville from 2009 - 2011. Dorothy was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends, sewing and crafting. Dorothy is survived by two sisters: Rose M. Guth and her husband, Mike of Leeper and Patty Ochs and her husband, Rick of Lucinda. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Howard and Thomas Bauer and 2 sisters, Mildred Stewart and Alice Kassner. Friends and family will be received from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn, Ohio.
