Obituary of Alice E. Schill

Alice E. Schill, 90, of Lucinda, died Thursday afternoon, October 11, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Shippenville. Born May 14, 1922 in Strobleton, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Clara Hargenrader Smrekar.
She married Jerome M. Schill on August 21, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1978.
She was a graduate of Farmington High School. Mrs. Schill was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Rosary Alter Society of the church. She was a homemaker and was well known for her homemade bread.
Mrs. Schill is survived by the following children: Donald J. Schill and his wife, Julie of Lucinda; Stephen F. Schill and his wife, Darlene of Leeper; Richard L. Schill and his wife, Mary of Lucinda; Diane M. Heasley and her husband, Daniel of Leeper; Linda A. Pinter and her husband, Robert of Erie; Joan E. O'Hare and her husband, Rev. Donald of Muse Pa; Kathleen S. Obenrader and her husband, Thomas of Leeper; Mary E. Lutz and her husband, Jerry of Lucinda; Kevin M. Schill and his wife, Verneada of Lucinda; Susan E. Beary and her husband, Richard of Lucinda; Timothy P. Schill and his wife Stacey of Lucinda; Lisa J. Judy and her husband, Roy of Lucinda; Brenda J. Hoover and her husband, Scott of Lucinda; Patrick J. Schill of Lucinda. She is survived by a brother, Leo Smrekar of Seneca and a sister Helen Smrekar of Lucinda and a sister-in-law Theresa Smrekar of Toledo, OH. She is survived by 26 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Schill was preceded in death by a brother Bill, infant brother and sister, daughter-in-law Shirley Schill, and sister -in-law Marilyn Smrekar who passed away the same day as Alice.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph in Lucinda, with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor of St. Mary Church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Joseph School in Lucinda or Charitable Deeds at 98 Hickory Nut Lane, Knox, Pa 16232
