Wesley T. Hollis, 80, of Lake Lucy Road, Tionesta died early Friday morning, August 31, 2012 at his home after an extended illness. Born August 20, 1932 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Wesley T., Sr. and Cecelia Hickey Hollis.
He was married to the former Jeanne Braden on April 13, 1951 and she preceded him in death on November 25, 2000.
Mr. Hollis worked for the H.A. Siegel Coal Company and at Joe's Garage & Trucking, until his retirement. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He enjoyed computers, hunting, fishing, driving truck and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed organizing family reunions.
Mr. Hollis is survived by 2 sons, Tom Hollis and his wife, Mary Helen of Strattanville and Steve Hollis of Oil City and 4 daughters, Suzanne Beachy and her husband, Alan of Soddy Daisy, TN, Bev Fasenmyer and her husband Jim of Venus, Mary Hollis of Tionesta and Deb Carroll and her companion, Jerome Perry of Vowinckel. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Chuckie Hollis and his wife, Pat of Jamestown, NY and Harry Hollis, of Leeper and 1 sister, Connie Whiteman and her husband, Larry of Leeper. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Hollis was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Bill, Donald, Harvey and Rich Hollis.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, September 2, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Evans, Chaplain of Clarion Forest VNA, officiating. Interment will follow in the Scotch Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Program, 271 Perkins Rd, Clarion PA 16214.
