Obituary of Raymond C. Hummel

Raymond C. Hummel, 66, of Lucinda, went to be with the Lord on Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2011 at his home. Born August 14, 1945 in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Lillian Kammerdeiner Hindman and step-son of Herbert Hindman and he survives. He married the former Margaret (Peggy) Bowen on October 10, 1968 and she survives. Raymond was a member of the Riverhill Evangelical Church in Clarion. He loved playing cards, NASCAR racing, golf and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed meeting regularly with his bible study group. In addition to his wife and step-father, Raymond is survived by two children: Raymond "Tucker" Hummel and his wife, Tonya of Reynoldsville and Tonya Hummel Meier and her husband, Wade of Knox. He is survived by one sister, Gale Brooks of Shippenville. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Amanda, Uri and Mercy Hummel and Corey Rainey and one step-grandson, Derek Shaffer. In addition he survived by his father-in-law, David Bowen of Leeper and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law: Larry and Cindy Bowen of Tylersburg, Richard and JoAnn Bowen of Leeper, Steven and Anna Bowen of Tionesta, Michael Bowen of Leeper and Peggy Bowen of Leeper. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and numerous aunts and uncles. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Storm Rae Hummel and mother-in-law, Phyllis Bowen. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at Riverhill Evangelical Church in Clarion with Rev. Terry L. Jacobs, pastor of the church, officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Clarion-Forest VNA in remembrance of Ray.
