Obituary of Grace H. O´Neill

Grace H. O'Neill, 95, of Highland Oaks in Shippenville and formerly of Leeper, died early Friday morning, July 8, 2011 at Golden Living. Born January 6, 1916 in Leeper, she was the daughter of the late Conrad S. and Theresa Grolemund Wolbert. She was married to Henry J. O'Neill on December 11, 1943 at St. Mary Church in Crown and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1996.
Mrs. O'Neill graduated from Farmington High School in 1934. She graduated from Clarion State College in 1968. She taught for 11 years for Farmington Schools and 14 years for North Clarion School District. Mrs. O'Neill was a member of St. Mary Church in Crown and the Ladies Guild of the church. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the North Clarion Education Association, National Education Association and the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
Mrs. O'Neill is survived by two daughters, Joyce Rupert and her husband, Richard of Cooperstown and Bonnie Rice and her husband, Joseph of Clarion. She is also survived by a brother, Conrad Wolbert of New Bethlehem and two sisters, Stella Kelly of Hermitage and Louise Schmader of Clarion. She is survived by a son-in-law, Don Taylor of Bismarck, Arkansas. In addition, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, Steven Taylor, Gary Taylor, Carrie Fleming, Matthew Rupert, Erin John, Andrew Rupert, Gregory Rice, Ian Rice, Meghan Rice and Jacob Rice and 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. O'Neill was preceded in death by a daughter Theresa Taylor, 7 brothers, Joseph Wolbert, Raymond Wolbert, Earl Wolbert, Clair Wolbert, Ralph Wolbert, Arthur Wolbert and Walter Wolbert and 3 sisters, Ruth Walters, Edith Baughman and Cecelia Smith.
Friends and family may call on Monday, July 11 from to 4 - 8 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 12, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Crown with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Clarion Forest VNA Hospice or Highland Oaks in Shippenville.
