Obituary of Arthur L. McLaughlin

Arthur L. McLaughlin, 92, of Leeper, died Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2011 at Clarion Hospital. Born October 20, 1918 in Leesburg, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Ada Atkinson McLaughlin. He married the former Opal Rearick on June 30, 1940 in Wellsburg, West Virginia and she survives. Mr. McLaughlin served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for over 40 years with the railroad, 20 of which were with Pullman Standard in Butler. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Butler. He enjoyed photography and walking his dog. In addition to his wife, Mr. McLaughlin is survived by 3 sons, Gary L. McLaughlin of Leeper, Francis Rodney McLaughlin of Leeper and Arthur R. McLaughlin, Jr. of Butler. He is survived by 3 sisters, Mary Travaglio of Harrisburg, Evelyn Adams of Grove City and Hilda Hoagland of Grove City. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Adam McLaughlin and his wife, Jackie of Marienville, John McLaughlin and his wife, Missy of Hilliards and Patrick McLaughlin and his wife, Marcy of Butler and 3 great grandchildren, Adrian McLaughlin, Veronica McLaughlin and Declan McLaughlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Minnie Cook and Lillian Lightner and one brother, Earl McLaughlin. Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. David Coul, pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Tree Trimmer's Rest Cemetery in North Pine Grove. The family suggests memorials be made to Best Friends Animal Society, P.O. Box 315, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741-0315
