Obituary of Marjorie L. Carroll

Marjorie L. Carroll, 74, of Lucinda, died early Friday morning, March 25, 2011, at Clarion Hospital, with her family by her side. Born September 16, 1936 in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late Maurice P. and Catharine (Wolbert) Bauer. She was married on October 21, 1961 to Thomas A. Carroll and he survives. After raising her children, Marjorie worked at the 800 Medical Center as a medical receptionist for 14 years. She was most recently employed by Emergency Resource Management (of UPMC) at the Clarion Hospital as a medical records technician. Marjorie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda her entire life. She was a member of the Rosary Society of the church and was actively involved in quilting and volunteering for many years. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a loving wife of 49 years and tirelessly devoted her time and energy to family and friends. She especially liked spending time with her grandchildren. Marjorie was loved by her family and will be remembered for her strength, unselfishness and strong faith. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by 5 children: Lorie Bauer and her husband, Brad of Kennerdell, Greta Lutz and her husband, Floyd of Seneca, Andrew Carroll and his wife, Kelly of Pittsburgh, Tina Bauer and her husband, Andrew J. of Lucinda, and Joseph Carroll and his wife, Julie of Lucinda. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Geraldine Ochs of Lucinda, Walter Bauer of Lucinda, Estella Lauer and her husband, Delmar of Lucinda, Susan Larrow of Clarion, Rita Anderton and her husband, Michael of Seneca and Roger Bauer and his wife, Patricia of Lucinda. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Rachel, Rebecca and William Jones, Sarah and Evan Lutz and Andrew Carroll, Jr. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by a grandson, Aiden Carroll. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda, with William C. Miller, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Church, 112 Rectory Lane, Lucinda, PA 16214 or the Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive, Clarion, PA 16214.
