Obituary of Audrey E. Root

Audrey E. Root, 73, of Vowinckel died suddenly late Wednesday evening, January 26, 2011 at Clarion Hospital. Born August 31, 1937 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Hilary and Gertrude Lauderbach Leister. She was united in marriage to Ruel Root on October 6, 1956 at St. Joseph Church in Mt. Oliver, Pittsburgh and he survives. Mrs. Root was a member of St. Mary Church in Crown. She also was a member of Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Marienville VFW. Mrs. Root enjoyed bingo, going to the casino and birdwatching. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 children: Denise Files and her husband, James of Poca, WV; Ruel Root III and his wife, Tammy of Titusville; Maria Foltz and her husband, Brian of Julian, PA and Donald Root and his wife, Jeanine of Havre De Grace, Maryland. She is also survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother, Dorothy Kelso of California, Rosalind Yarham and her husband, William of South Carolina and William Leister and his wife, Louise of Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011 at St. Mary Church in Crown with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Mary Church in Crown.
