Aunt Cass was so nice to talk with on the phone in recent years. I'm so thankful that I did talk with Aunt Cass on her birthday this past November. I am sitting here wtih tears running down my face looking at your picture. I'm so sorry you are gone. You were the last one in the family of this generation. I'm glad I do have pictures of Aunt Cass from past family events. One event was my father's retirement party that Uncle Paul and Aunt Cass came to.

I have a lot of great memories of aunt Cass. It's strange the things we remember from childhood. They range from stopping in on the way home from Assumption to going up to 'camp'. The last time saw Cass I had stopped in, I guess it's Leeper? and couldn't believe the size of the place! Uncle Paul had told me my father did the concrete porch and I think the block work on the original one room cabin. I loved it there. When we drove away aunt Cass was crying and it brings tears to my eyes now because I know that her seeing me grown with children of my own the memories welled up and that time goes by much too fast. Cass was my last aunt. So now, that generation of people in my family has come to an end. Although we haven't been in contact I think and speak of uncle Paul and aunt Cass and always with a smile.

Cass and my mother, Agnes McCloskey were friends. I had several opportunities to have breakfast with Cass after weekday mass and it was always a delightful experience.
