Obituary of Dr. Henry A. (Hank) Gregory

Dr. Henry A. (Hank) Gregory, 80, of Marienville, died early Sunday morning, December 19, 2010 at Snyder Memorial in Marienville. Born October 22, 1930 in Oil City, he was the son of the late Henry S. and Margaret M. (McCloskey) Gregory. He was married to the former Patricia A. Fesenmyer on June 1, 1957 at St. Stephen's Church in Oil City by Msgr. Louis Kelly and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2008.
Dr. Gregory graduated from Marienville High School in 1949. He graduated in June 1955 from the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force in the Azores. Dr. Gregory had dental offices in Kane and Marienville for many years. He served on the Forest Area School Board and the Forest County Tax Payers Association. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Crown. He enjoyed farming and reading.
Dr. Gregory is survived by his children, Margaret R. Brougham of Erie, Henry M. Gregory of Aurora, Colorado, Mary P. Hartsell and her husband, Michael of Great Valley, NY and Patrick H. Gregory and his wife, Delilah of Marienville. He is also survived by a sister and brother, Elizabeth A. Morris and her husband, Dale of Missouri City, Texas and George F. Gregory and his wife, Anne R. of Marienville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, including Patrick and Michael Gregory, whom he helped raise and 2 great granddaughters.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dr. Gregory was preceded in death by a daughter Catherine E. Merryman.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at St. Mary Church in Crown, with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Clarion-Forest VNA or St. Mary Church in Crown.
