Robert Lee Allio, 66, of Crown, died early Thursday morning, November 18, 2010 at Clarion Hospital. Born June 1, 1944 in Tylersburg, he was the son of the late Lee and Isabelle S. Frill Allio. He married the former Gloria Carruba on September 6, 1975, and she survives.
Mr. Allio served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He worked for 42 years in the housing industry, retiring from Commodore Homes in 2006. He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Allio was a member of the American Legion Post 66 in Clarion, the Antler Club in Lucinda, Fryburg Sportsmans Club and the VFW in Rimersburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Allio is survived by 5 daughters and 3 sons: Sharon Best and her husband, Merv of Knox, Roger Wolbert of Leeper, Jeffrey Wolbert of Leeper, Bonnie Wile and her husband, Ray of Crown, Duane Wolbert and his wife, Victoria of Crown, Melanie McLaughlin and her husband, Jeffrey of Crown, Beverly Thompson and her husband, Tim of Florida and Jennifer Weaver and her husband, Scott of Transfer, PA. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister; Arthur Allio and his wife, Carol of Warren, Ohio, Francine Delo and her husband, Robert of Williamsburg, VA and Francis Allio and his wife, Dorothy of Tylersburg. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Allio was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wolbert, 2 brothers, Stanley and Thomas Allio, 2 sisters, Wanda Lou and Beverly Allio and one grandson, Seth Weaver.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 and on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 from 1 - 2 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at the funeral home, with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor of St. Mary Church in Crown, presiding. Military Honors will be provided by Clarion Post 66 of the American Legion. Interment will follow in Tylersburg Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Mary Church in Crown or the Farmington Area Ambulance Service.
