Judy Ann (Walter) Fitzgerald, 88, of Leeper, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

She was born December 29, 1936, to Francis "Jake" Gilbert Walter and Julie Ann Hirst-Bostaph. During high school, at Farmington, she worked in the meat section at the family owned Leeper Red and White Market.

Later she married James Arthur Smith, who is deceased, of Marienville, PA. While he was in the Air Force they lived in California where her first of three children, Heidi, was born. Heidi proceeded her into the afterlife.

After the USAF they lived near the Cleveland Airport where two sons, Kenneth James and Jacob Pieter were born in 1961 and 1964. Both sons survive and live locally.

Later moving to Euless Texas for several years, she was elected to be an Elder in the Presbyterian Church of Euless, before she was 40 years of age. She moved home to Leeper during divorce, living across from her postmistress mother Julia and her WWII Marine Corps Veteran father "Jake". There she re-met her high school sweetheart and married him, William "Bill" Eugene Fitzgerald, who preceded her in death.

For a time, she worked at the Sawmill Restaurant and then Cooksburg State Park before joining the Clarion County office of aging during the 1970's from which she retired in 1997.

In addition to her sons, she is survived by a son in law, Henry "Hank" Bauer, granddaughter Jessica Moore and her husband William Moore and their son and daughter, William and Stella Moore; grandson Jacob James Smith and his wife Haley and their daughter, Jael Smith; granddaughter Kathleen Julia (Smith) Crawford and her husband Christopher and their son and daughter, Toran and Marin Crawford.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her daughter Heidi, infant granddaughter Heather, granddaughter Jacki Marie McLaughlin, and her sister Diane Schrecengost.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper, PA.
