





Obituary of Ruth J. Snyder

Ruth Snyder, 95, of Lucinda, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Shippenville Nursing and Rehab facility where she had resided for the past few months.
Born on September 11, 1929, in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Frohnaple) Lutz.
After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Lucinda in 1949, Ruth worked for Owens-Illinois glass plant in Clarion for several years before becoming a homemaker.
On October 10, 1950, she married Leon W. Snyder, who preceded her in death on July 4, 2006.
She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, and a member of the church's Rosary Society.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Pam Niederriter and her husband Ed of Fryburg; her son-in-law Bill Hartle and his wife Karen of Lucinda; as well as her grandchildren and their spouses: Mark and Elisa Hartle of Cypress, TX; Adrienne and Costi Shami of Durham, NC; and Claire and Brody Irwin of Warsaw, IN.
Also surviving are three great-grandchildren: Clay Hartle, Casten Hartle and Leonora Shami; sister-in-law Lois Scott of Marienville; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Hartle; grandson, Ryan Hartle; and brothers Bernard 'Barney' Lutz, Charles Lutz, Carl 'Bud' Lutz, and Mark Lutz, and sisters Anastasia 'Sis' Lutz, Helen Magness, Vera 'Betty' Wolbert, and Esther 'Grace' Corbett. Ruth was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home in Leeper. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Lucinda, with Rev. Michael Polinek, pastor, presiding. Burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
