Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donna M. Judy, 82, of Lucinda, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, with her daughter and sisters by her side. She was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by her husband, Jerry, who was waiting patiently for her to join him.
She was the first-born daughter to the late Norbert E. and Marion P. (Steiner) Wolbert, in Lucinda, PA on February 1, 1943.
Donna graduated in 1961 from St. Joseph School in Lucinda. After graduating high school, she went on to attend Oil City Cosmetology School.
On September 5, 1964, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, PA, she married the love of her life Jerome J. "Jerry" Judy, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2023. They were married for 58 years and had re-newed their wedding vows 2 times, at their camp along the Clarion River for their 25th anniversary and then again for their 50th at St. Joseph Church, having a big party with family and friends during both.
Donna had opened her own beauty shop in Lucinda for a few years, Donna's Beauty Shop. She became a stay-at-home mom once her son, Lonny, was born and then her daughter Holly. During that time, Donna also helped Jerry operate a small store and ice cream shop that they called "The Deck". Donna and Jerry were together all the time, making daily trips to Walmart, Clarion or just driving around Lucinda. They loved to travel as long as they could, all over the United States, visiting family and friends appreciating the beauty in what each state had to offer. She would go to all the square dances that Jerry called and made many friends along the way.
Donna loved to have her Tuesday outings with her sister-in-law Ruth Lander and niece Tammy. She loved to quilt, go shopping and making many different crafts. Donna loved scratching lottery tickets and enjoyed eating BLT's and olives! She loved the holidays. If you knew Donna, you knew she had an outfit with earrings to match. She loved wearing animal print outfits or wild outfits and was always known to be dressed up with matching accessories. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, she at one time had up to 8 decorated Christmas trees in her home. She loved to decorate her house for every holiday.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda and was also in the Rosary Society there. After her kids started school Donna worked at the Church and Rectory. She worked for many priests that came to St. Joseph. Donna also cleaned the church, rectory and school. She donated a lot of her time, as well as helping with many church activities, quilting, dinners, and the 4th of July festival for as long as she could.
After a period of declining health, she was able to stay in her home as long as possible with the help of her daughter, Holly and her beloved caregiver Jennifer Moore. After a recent stay in the hospital, she then ended up for a short time at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. They welcomed her gladly and remember her being there daily for 6 months when her husband was there. She had made many friends during that time and many of those friends were there to care for her in her final hours. Many thanks to her caregiver Jen Moore and Shippenville HCRC for taking care of our mom like their own.
She is survived by her children: Lonny Judy and his wife Amy of Butler, PA and Holly Bradybaugh of Lucinda, PA; her 6 grandchildren: Zack and Sydney Weaver and Taylor (Jay) Stone, Carter Judy and Hope and Sophia Bradybaugh; siblings: Joanne Froella, Carol (Regis) Lenhart and Norbie Wolbert. She is survived by many relatives that loved her deeply, many nieces and nephews, godchildren and cousins.
In addition to her parents Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; in-laws, Jerome and Irene Judy, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Samuel Froella, Grace and Wick Ochs, Ralph and Joanne Judy, Bonnie Judy, Dick and Ginny Judy and Ruth and Bill Lander.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper, PA. Donna truly left a mark on Earth as a kind and caring person who loved to become friends with anyone. She was a social butterfly, and many were blessed to have called her a friend.
