I have been blessed with the outstanding Elvis performance by Henry and the cast at the Sawmill, which was the single opportunity to meet him informally. Henry put his heart and soul into the effort, which is evident with how he lived life. As his cousin Beth would say, "God knew what He was doing when He put that one together!"
May you cherish the special memories and find peace in doing so.

Q: How did you meet Benjamin?
A: I've known Henry since he was 12 years old as a student in my classroom. He found a love for acting on stage and of learning the meaning of fine poetry.
As a man, he knew how precious his family was to him and treated those around him with dignity and respect. The Clarion Y will not be the same without his strong presence and support. We'll strive to honor his memory by being more like him. Rest in peace, Henry.

To Laura and Sherman Family: I am sending my sincere condolences to all of you. It is hard to lose loved ones and neighbors. I always enjoyed talking to Henry. I often saw you ladies and sometimes Henry walking the 2 brown dogs,(Cooper & Ranger, right?) going past my house on Lawn Drive and always got a wave and smile, as we met. Rest In Peace Benjamin Henry Sherman, until we meet again. Love sent. Linda Steiner-Mander

To Henry’s family; to say I’m sorry seems so small in comparison as to what you’re feeling. I am in shock! Henry was such a dear man. So friendly and happy. He always greeted me with a smile and a “hi Vicki”. He helped me so much when my dad died. And he listened when I had a problem I needed help with. I will surely miss him. I’m very glad that he had a strong relationship with God. I know that he is sitting by His side talking to God all about his family and his dogs.

Even though I didn’t know Henry for a long time he definitely made an impression on me…hardworking, funny, creative and always so appreciative of others. He will be missed by so many. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Always remember to tell the ones in your life you love them every single day and give them a hug. Rest in peace Henry

We have enjoyed having Henry, Laura and the girls as our neighbors. They welcomed us when we built our home 17 years ago. The girls babysat our kids. Always loved seeing him driving the dogs around in the side by side. He will be missed. My continued thoughts and prayers.

Henry was a light everytime he walked into a room, whether it was his hilarious personality or just some sort of bright idea. To be more specific, he planned on planting a flower field at the farm to host a free event in the fall called flower in a jar. The community could come and pick the grown flowers and take their flowers in a jar home with them. I hope to continue his plan, because I’m sure that’s what he would want. So many prayers!

I send my deepest condolences to Laura and the girls. I will always remember Henry being my best friend when Haley and my sister played basketball together in elementary school. We would share popcorn and laugh the whole time. Henry had the gift to make others laugh and lightened up any room he entered. I had the honor of working with him at the Y for almost two years. Everyone adored Mr. Henry and he will surely be missed. Sending prayers of comfort and peace to the family.

Henry was the best- He drove the bus that picked my students up for swim at the YMCA. He was so easy to talk to, and I looked forward to our brief chats and seeing his smiling face each week. My deepest sympathy to his family. What a wonderful man!
