Jean A. Lutz, 89, of LaVerne, CA, formerly of Lucinda, PA. passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Jean was born on July 29, 1934, in Lucinda, PA to the late Sylvester and Lorene M. (Gatesman) Schmader.

She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Lucinda in 1952. Jean married Arthur A. Lutz on June 19, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2007.

Jean had worked for National City Bank for seven years at the Clarion Mall and then fourteen years at First National Bank. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda where she belonged to the Rosary Society and St. Joseph's Choir. She also quilted for the church for many years. Jean was also a member of the Red Hat Society and American Legion Auxiliary.

Jean is survived by her son, Timothy A. Lutz of LaVerne, CA; granddaughter, Stephanie Lutz; and her brother Lawrence Schmader.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sheri Burchfield, son-in-law John Burchfield, and siblings: Donald Schmader, Vivian Weiser, Kenneth Schmader, Edwin Schmader, and Nancy Snyder.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, PA. A funeral mass will follow at 12:00pm at the church with Rev. Cory Pius, Parochial Vicar, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
