Obituary of Eileen R. Schill

Eileen R. (Guth) Schill, 89, of Lucinda, died late Monday night, September 25, 2017, while surrounded by her family in her home. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to Stanley J. Schill, 92; mother of Gary F. Schill (husband of Lori) of Lucinda and Valerie L. Harkless (wife of James) of Sinking Spring, PA and grandmother ("Grammy") of Joshua Harkless, 14, and Shawn Harkless, 8. Eileen was born August 18, 1928 and was the daughter of the late John "Jack" and Genevieve (Fletcher) Guth of Fryburg. She was a 1946 graduate of Shippenville High School and a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and the American Legion Auxiliary in Clarion. Eileen worked for a time at SITRO Corp. in Oil City and then as the office manager of Ordiway Coal Co. in Clarion. Later, she became a full-time wife and mom. Over the years, she enjoyed having "a good cold beer", every so often, styling friends' hair, designing silk flower arrangements, tending to her flower garden and plants and keeping a clean and welcoming home. At nearly 75 years of age, she became a doting grandmother. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, Eileen is survived by five godchildren, Jerry Schill, Dan Cyphert, Bob Becker, Clete Schill and Renee Slater, She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Mary "Sis" Heffner, Margaret "Margie" Schill Esplen, Helen Lenhart and Catherine "Cass" Karg. A private visitation for family will be held. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated, immediately following, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Eileen's memory to Clarion Forest VNA, Inc.
