Obituary of Wayne H. Hunter

Wayne H. Hunter, 77, of Hickory Lane, Tionesta, died early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2010 at Snyder Memorial in Marienville. Born February 11, 1933, in Groveton, New Hampshire, he was the son of Harold and Verne Mills Hunter. He married Mary R. Morgan on June 29, 1957 and she survives. Mr. Hunter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a construction supervisor until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and NRA. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hunter is survived by 4 sons, Robert Hunter and his wife, Deb of Tionesta, John Hunter of Tionesta, David Hunter and Robin of Knox and Donald Hunter of Tionesta. He is also survived by a brother, Paul Hunter and his wife, Linda of Vermont. He is survived by 9 grandchildren: Jason and Renee, both of Ellicott City, Maryland, Jamie and Stephanie, both of Tionesta, Jessica of Titusville, Misty of Grand Valley, Nicole of Franklin, Jeremy & Jacob, both of Fort Stockton, Texas. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family may call on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 7 - 9 and on Saturday from 1 - 2 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Coul, pastor of Good Shepherd Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Amity Lutheran Cemetery in Newmansville.
